South Bank Innovation's Sustainable Innovation team is inviting all London's businesses to learn how to become more sustainable - through actions not words!

The FREE two-day bootcamp, held at South Bank University's easily accessible Southwark Campus, will help your business identify and solve your specific sustainability problems through practical tools and tips and access to a FREE online energy calculator worth £250 for a whole year!

We are excited to be joined by industry experts from SSE Energy Solutions, Zellar and Think Circular, as well as leading academics so your business can be more green.

Bootcamp details

The fully-funded bootcamp runs from 09.30 - 16.00 on both days and is an in-person event held at South Bank University's award-winning sustainable Hub building.

Day two: The business case for sustainability

  • Navigate the challenges of sustainability within your business
  • Discover how sustainable innovation can unlock business opportunities
  • Develop individual net zero action plans
  • Network with your peers

Eligibility criteria

To join this free bootcamp, your business must:

  • Be registered to an address within Greater London
  • Have less than 250 employees
  • Have an annual turnover below £43 million

Meet your facilitators

Debbie Luffman, Founder and Director, Think Circular

Debbie has over 20 years' broad experience in business, mainly in the fashion and textiles sector, and runs the consultancy Think Circular, as a circular strategist and activist, supporting businesses and designers transition towards a positive and circular fashion ecosystem.

From 2008 - 2021 she was Product Director at pioneering, sustainable outdoor clothing brand, Finisterre, where she led ambitious initiatives to significantly reduce the brand’s environmental impact, through innovation, strategic partnerships and implementing circular business models.

Debbie is also a co-founder and passionate leader within the Fashion Declares Movement, a tutor on the CISL Business Sustainability Management course and a trustee at environmental charity Hubbub.

Professor Issa Chaer

Issa Chaer is a professor of thermal energy systems and currently the Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise for the school of the Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University.

Issa has over 20 years' combined lecturing, research and research management experience within the higher education sector complement with industrial experience. His research topics include energy conversion including combined heat, power, and refrigeration (trigeneration) refrigeration and heat pump systems and renewable technologies.

Issa also has interests in energy conservation in residential properties and measure to reduce energy consumption.
