The LSBU Alumni and Development and Student Enterprise teams have a panel of truly impressive women entrepreneurs who will be sharing their start-up journeys, their highs, their challenges, and how they are contributing to innovation, job creation, and the development of new intellectual property.

About the panel
Emma Alexander Emma Alexander is the cofounder of Wisern, a business development platform for creatives, and the solo-founder of Mother Bran, a full-service commercial production company. She has 20 years of experience working in the creative industry and has produced global advertising campaigns working with all the things people advise against: kids, animals, and A-list celebrities. Alessandra Lopes Alessandra (Alex) Lopes is Director and Co-Founder of Luz Consultancy, Ltd. In her leadership role, Alex bridges the gap between clients and investors in the renewable energy market within her home country of Brazil. Alex and her business offer sustainable alternatives to Brazilian business owners and develops solar projects for schools. Alex's natural entrepreneurial flair and financial background enables her to help teams become successful. She builds and maintains positive relationships throughout her field. Dr Satnam Sagoo Dr Satnam Sagoo is the Associate Chief People Officer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Directing the organisations development, leadership, well-being, and culture programs as well as taking responsibility for the people transformation programs. Satnam has a passion for human story-telling and social change and believes that effective cultural change must be organic and sustainable, while being anchored to creating opportunities for people to flourish in an ever-changing environment. Laura Sandys CBE Laura Sandys CBE is the Non-Executive Director SGN, Highview Power, Ohme & Energy System Catapult and Chair of the UK Government’s Energy Digitalisation Taskforce, Futhermore, she is a co-founder and chair of the Food Foundation and co-founder of POWERful Women. A former Member of Parliament for South Thanet, and a serial entrepreneur, academic, and journalist, Laura brings together business and policy-making to propel change, primarily in the areas of food and energy. is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
What support does the Student Enterprise team offer at LSBU?
LSBU Student Enterprise inspires students and graduates to grow their skills, take opportunities and shape their futures. We offer free events, activities and programmes to support LSBU students and graduates into employment, self-employment or to start their own business. *What is the Certificate in Enterprise?
LSBU students and alumni can obtain a Certificate in Enterprise by taking part in six Student Enterprise activities throughout the academic year. The Certificate in Enterprise is HEAR accredited for LSBU Undergraduate students only. It’s a great way for LSBU students to demonstrate to employers that they have expanded their skills, knowledge and network whilst studying. Please keep a record of all Student Enterprise events you attend and contact us at studententerprise@lsbu.ac.uk once you have attended six sessions.

Yes, our events are open to members of the public. All we ask is that you come with the willingness to learn something new. Please register under the ‘Other’ category.
